The year has already had a wild start, and we’re only one month in! For me personally though, it has been a relaxed time. I’m starting fresh this year, and this month has definitely been about starting new projects and setting new goals. I’ve started to plan out what this year will look like on The NerDIY Blog, and I’m really excited for you to join me along the way!
Goals for the year
If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram, I shared some of my goals for 2021.
This year it is my goal to:
Finish at least one project a month
Post to the blog every other week
Practice, practice, practice
Stay tuned over the next year to keep up with my progress! So far, we’re doing well and I’m feeling good about developing my skills and growing over the next year.
Starting new projects
This year, I’ve decided to focus more on making plushies. Worry not! I will still be doing a little bit of everything, but I feel the most confident making plushies and I’m really excited to make more for y’all. I’ve also upgraded from felt to minky, which feels like a big step and I will be spending some time learning the secrets of this new fabric.
I’ve also started drawing again! If you kept up with me last year, I took part in a weekly art challenge, following prompts from TinkerSketch. Each week, we would finish one piece to correspond with the prompt. For Christmas I got a big pack of alcohol markers so I will be starting to do more traditional drawings in addition to digital.
What’s coming in February?
February is going to be an eventful month, especially in the first half! We’ve got both Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day coming up. Chinese New Year in particular is an event that is close to my heart and I hope to share the excitement with you too.
I’m planning some themed crafts that you can look forward to, and of course, I will be sharing patterns and instructions as well.
