February 2021 in Crafts - Lots of Love

Updated: Feb 9, 2022

February was a mixed bag of a month, when it came to crafting. Despite school ramping up and midterm season starting, I got a lot of crafts finished. I made some Valentine’s day plushies, which a lot more people liked than I expected! It was a fantastic surprise for me. The last half of February I got REALLY into crocheting cute bucket hats, and I can’t wait to show you what I made.

Heart pillow set

For Valentine’s Day, I pulled out an old design and gave it a refreshed look. Four years ago I made a set of Miraculous Ladybug heart pillows and as an update I made She-ra pillows in the same style. Oh my lord the She-ra heart pillow set blew up on Instagram, and I am floored by the amount of love for them.

If you are interested in making a heart pillow of your own, I have a tutorial up now!

The positive response is really encouraging and motivating to me, so if you have any suggestions for other pairings, please leave me a comment below!

Crochet bucket hats

This is my newest obsession - crochet bucket hats! Honestly I’m not much of a hat person but this is so much fun that I can’t help but make more. It started with my friend sending a photo of this strawberry hat, then my discovery of the froggy hat, and well...here we are. I don’t have any proper pictures of the hats I made yet but they are coming soon!

What’s coming in March

A quick disclaimer ahead of time, I’m not sure how much crafting or even blog writing I’ll be able to do in the coming month because it’s busy season at university. I really hope to make more crochet bucket hats though because they are just too much fun to make. I’m also working on a prototype for a Hollow Knight plushie, so you can look forward to seeing my process for that as well.

Which craft are you looking forward to seeing the most? Do you have any ideas or suggestions for things for me to make? What are you looking forward to in March? Let me know in the comments below or send me a message on Instagram or Twitter @thenerDIYblog. If you'd like your crafting questions answered live, I stream on Twitch at twitch.tv/finding_doro.
