Among Us Plushie Tutorial - FREE Printable Pattern

Updated: Feb 9, 2022

Not gonna lie, y’all, I’m not great at Among Us. I’ve still been having a lot of fun playing together with my friends and watching the chaos ensue (so long as I’m not the imposter). I posted a picture of an Among Us plushie and got a few requests for a tutorial! Well, as requested, here it is:

Tools and materials

  • Felt or fabric of choice: main color plus light blue for the eye

  • Sewing kit

  • Pattern (linked below)

  • Fiberfill stuffing (or scrap fabric, cotton balls, sponges)

Trace the pattern onto the “wrong” side of your fabric aka the side of the fabric that will face the inside. Trace two of the main body, two of the feet, two of the backpack fronts, and the backpack side onto your main color. Trace the eye onto the pale blue fabric. When cutting out your pieces, leave about a ¼ inch of a seam allowance around the pieces you traced out.

Sew the main body

Use a back stitch to sew all the pieces together. You can choose to use a running stitch instead, which will be faster but the seam will not be as strong.

Step 1: Sew the darts at the top of the main body closed.

Step 2: Pin the two halves together, with the lines you traced facing outward.

Step 3: Sew along the lines, starting about halfway up one side.

Step 4: When you get to the feet, insert the oval feet bottoms between your two halves, lining up the longer sides with the corners and stitch around to attach the foot

Step 5: Finish sewing the rest, attaching the second foot

Remember! Leave about an inch and a half gap between where you start and where you stop so you can turn it inside out.

Step 6: Carefully turn inside out through the gap you left

Step 7: Stuff the legs first, then the rest of the body

Step 8: Sew the gap closed with a ladder stitch

Sew the eye onto the main body

This part can be a bit tricky to get centered. What I find helps is using chalk or pencil to mark out where the eye is supposed to be onto the main body.

Step 1: Sew the darts closed first

Step 2: Make one small stitch where the dart is, connecting it to the main body where you marked out at the center top, center bottom, center left, and center right

Step 3: Sew the edges between the centering stitches using a ladder stitch, folding the seam allowance inward as you go

Step 4: When you have only about an inch left to sew, stuff the eye

Step 5: Finish sewing the gap closed with a ladder stitch

OPTIONAL: using hot glue and scrap white fabric, glue on a small white oval on the eye as the shine

Sew the backpack

This is the last part! Like the main body, this also uses a back stitch.

Step 1: Stitch one edge of the side strip along the edge of one of your backpack fronts

Step 2: When you get to the end, sew the ends of the strip together

Step 3: Line up the other front piece and sew the strip to the edge, leaving a small gap of about one inch

Step 4: Carefully flip inside out

Step 5: Stuff the backpack and sew closed with a ladder stitch

Step 6: Attach the backpack to the back of the main body with a ladder stitch

Done!

There you have it! Your very own Among Us plushie, ready to do some tasks (or kill some crewmates, who knows). This is the most complex tutorial I’ve done so far and I spent a long time working on and perfecting this pattern myself, so I would appreciate it a lot if you have any feedback for me!
