9 cozy crafts to get into the fall mood

Updated: Feb 9, 2022

It’s October and you know what that means: the autumn season is upon us! With cooler weather comes the opportunity for cozy crafts and I, for one, am ready to embrace my ultimate cozy form (wrapped in multiple blankets with a warm drink). If you’re looking for some cozy crafts to get in the Fall mood, you’ve come to the right place!

Hand knitted blanket

I remember seeing arm knitted blankets for the first time on Pinterest and NEEDING it in my life. If you’re a beginner crafter this is an easy and quick project with results you can literally throw on your friends. You don’t need knitting needles, only your hands.

Beanie

As the weather gets colder, you’re gonna be spotting a lot more beanies and scarves when you’re out and about. Don’t tell anyone but a beanie is actually super easy to make! Plus, when you make your own you can make a scarf to match - you can’t beat coordinating accessories.

If you want an extra layer of warmth in your hat, you can sew in a fleece lining.

Infinity scarf

Do I really need to explain why you should make an infinity scarf? Especially if you already made a hat. It’s cozy! It’s not complicated! Beginner friendly and has millions of customization options! Go make it now!

Knitted sweaters

This is potentially a bit more complicated and definitely a bigger project than knitting a hat or scarf. However, if you’ve ever seen the hand knit sweaters on Instagram, they look amazing and well worth the time!. There are lots of patterns online and one that I’m really loving right now is this honeycomb pattern sweater:

Aangy coffee

One of the best things about fall is warm drinks. With a crochet hook and some yarn you can make a warm drink that will look at you disapprovingly but adorably from your desk or shelf. This is a beginner-friendly amigurumi pattern with an easy to follow tutorial from Megan’s Crochet Market on YouTube.

Pumpkin pie

Baking is a fantastic pastime and Fall means pie and soup season. The classic Fall pie? Pumpkin pie, of course! It’s super easy to make from the ingredients in the grocery store and unlike other crafts and hobbies, you get a treat to eat at the end! Bonus points if you have whipped cream or ice cream.

Try out one of these recipes:

Ghostie plushie

Last Halloween I made the cutest little ghost plushie! It’s a super simple pattern with only two pieces. All you need is an old t-shirt, stuffing, and some sewing skills and you’ll be set with your own cute and squishy ghost friend. It's beginner-friendly and absolutely FREE!

Pumpkin plushies

Add pumpkins that’ll last forever to your fall decor on a budget and in 15 minutes. What I like best about these is you have the freedom to use any colour or patterning you want. It’s got infinite possibilities, and it’s very beginner friendly. Highly recommend it!

Black cat plushie

For our last Fall project, we’ve got one more beginner-friendly plushie. This one is made from black socks so it’s very accessible and it’ll make a good friend for the ghostie! If you don’t have black socks, really any color socks will be cute!

With these cozy crafts, you’ll be ready to settle into Fall wrapped in a huge hand-knit blanket, warm drink in hand, warm drinks on the shelf and a few spooky friends.
