5 Last Minute Handmade Gifts to Start Right Now

Updated: Feb 9, 2022

The holidays are approaching fast, and I, for one, am so excited to be done with exams and home with my family. Because I’ve been really busy, I didn’t get all my gifts ahead of time so I had to resort to some last minute handmade gifts. If you are also scrambling to think of a last minute gift, give one of these a try!

Crochet ornaments

Ornaments are one of the things that people like to get really creative with, and I think it’s a great inspiration. Whatever you want to make, put a loop on it and it’s an ornament! It gives your decorations a personal touch that can’t be bought in any store.

If you’re looking for something more specific, NinjaCatCrafts has a free pattern for Disney themed crochet ornaments here!

Crochet hat

Winter means winter hat season! I had the chance to make my own crochet hat and I think it is a quick and easy craft that you can whip up in time for gift-giving season. While the pattern I used said that it’s a 1.5 hour project, I do think it will take longer depending on your level of comfort/skill with crochet.

Mini embroidery

If crochet isn’t your thing and embroidery is, I love the idea of mini embroidery! Bonus: it can be made into an ornament or a necklace pendant. It will require some concentration and probably some experience with embroidery or cross stitch but the results are guaranteed to be adorable!

Paper craft/washi tape cards

Even if you already have your gifts ready, you can always add your own personal touch with handmade cards. Paper craft is always a popular way to make adorable and memorable cards. Personally, I like washi tape art on cards. It creates a unique effect that I really like plus it’s an excuse for me to buy and use more washi tapes.

It's easy and quick and can be made with the things that you already have at home!

Personalize with instant photos

Another way to add a personal touch is to make use of instant photos either in your packaging or in your card. It’ll put a spin on the traditional family photo Christmas card and I think it gives you the freedom to have a bit more fun with your photos!
